1 tsp. baking soda
2 cups chocolate chips

2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
(*I'm leaving out the pecans/walnuts)
Prheat oven to 375 F. With electric mixer, beat shortening and sugars together at high speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time to the cookie batter and mix after each addition. Add vanilla and beat until smooth. In a separate bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients. Gradually blend into creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop dough from small spoon onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until cookies are golden around edges and underneath. Remove from oven and let cool about 2 minutes before removing from the baking sheet. With lifter remove cookies from the pan and let cool on racks.
Makes about 48 large cookies or 72 small ones.
And I must say, my cookies were a hit! Yippieeee!!! More baking for me :D
